Background of the Study

Agatu Local Government Area in Benue State has experienced significant conflicts, particularly clashes between herders and farmers, leaving widespread devastation in its communities. Post-conflict rebuilding is a complex process that requires strategic communication to ensure effective coordination, trust-building, and community engagement. Development communication plays a crucial role in rebuilding efforts by promoting reconciliation, facilitating information dissemination, and mobilizing resources for recovery (Okoh et al., 2023). Effective strategies include participatory media, community-based dialogue, and culturally sensitive messaging that address the underlying causes of conflict and foster unity (Eze & Abah, 2024). This study investigates the effectiveness of communication strategies in post-conflict rebuilding in Agatu LGA, emphasizing their role in achieving long-term stability.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

Despite ongoing rebuilding efforts in Agatu LGA, challenges such as mistrust, lack of community participation, and inadequate communication strategies have hindered progress.
